Marhaba!
A big hello from the new Right2Education volunteers at Birzeit
University! We have been in Palestine for nearly two weeks and it’s been quite
a whirlwind (but in a very, very good way!). It’s hard to sum it up in a couple
of sentences, but I think I speak for everyone when I say that we’ve never
before been made to feel so welcome.

Our first week with the campaign was incredibly busy, made more so
by the celebrations for International Service’s 60-year anniversary. Throughout
the week the R2E campaign hosted volunteers from Til Palestina, a student
solidarity group from NTNU in Trondheim , Norway, to participate in a series of
workshops. A lot of time was dedicated to organising Norway’s first ever Right
to Education Week, which is a really exciting project and we hope that it will
be a great success.
Every year the Right to Education campaign calls on international
student groups who stand in solidarity with the struggle for Palestinian human
rights to participate in a Right to Education Week. As international volunteers
one of our main roles will be to raise awareness and coordinate international
participation for this years R2E Week, 11-15 November. We are also working on
some exciting new content for the website and looking to expand our presence on
all forms of social media.
Time to get back to work. Until next time!
